In the modern day world exams are the measure that show how a person can gather, assimilate and recall vital information. Because of this for many students there is enormous pressure to study and to not only pass exams but with high marks. Add to this the day to day problems of growing up and peer pressures etc it is no wonder that many young people are dreading exams. These kinds of pressures and the resultant fears and anxieties can inhibit a student and lead to blanking out and finding it difficult to recall information and apply that recall to answering exam questions. Some students dread the forthcoming exams and are already failing them in their minds before even entering the examination room.

Often a student may have had past experiences of failure or low pass results in their exams and coming up to more exams this pressure can also become a dreadful encumbrance.

An examinee may suffer pre-exam nerves and this kind of fear can blank out his or her ability to recall the information that is stored somewhere in the mind.
